Attualmente l’artista più significativa del Valdres, ha studiato Grafica d’Arte presso l’Accademia Nazionale delle Arti dei Oslo, con la professoressa e direttrice Zdenka Rusova. Vive e lavora a Fagernes, nel Valdres, non lontano dalle montagne del Parco Nazionale dello Jotunheimen. E’ inoltre membro attivo dell’Associazione Nazionale degli Artisti Norvegesi.

Eva Laila Hilsen ha all’attivo più di 40 esposizioni delle sue opere, in gallerie pubbliche e private, nazionali e internazionali. Ha partecipato a Biennali e Triennali dedicate all’arte grafica sui quattro continenti, e le sue opere sono state acquistate da numerosi collezionisti privati, istituzioni pubbliche, musei etc.

In Italia, è stata selezionata per partecipare a settembre all’Ottava Rassegna di arte contemporanea presso la Casa dei Carraresi di Treviso. Nel 2017, ha vinto il secondo premio al concorso “Memento Andy”, indetto dall’Associazione Culturale Internazionale Atelier 3+10 di Mestre. Ha partecipato alla Quarta Esposizione Internazionale dell’incisione di Cremona (2005); al Premio Leonardo Sciascia a Milano (2000) e al Premio Internazionale d’Incisione di Biella (1999).
